The other night, I went to a local brewpub with friends in California. It made me remember a unique opportunity I had during my last trip to Italy. My friends Kelly & Steve have a microbrewery and they needed a hand — we spent a good part of the weekend sterilizing bottles, bottling beer, labeling and packaging the product. And I grabbed my camera throughout the weekend snapping shots they could use on the White Dog Beer website. Its not exported to the US but that just means its all that more special if you get to Italy to find one of the pubs or shops that sells it!

Now, how many people go to Italy and can say they did that! Looks like a great time!

Exactly! I went to college with Kelly though, so the time I spend with them is about catching up as much as it is “doing” something. Was fun to pitch in a hand… labeling bottles, working a booth at a festival, a definite difference from other Italian vacations!

We can work out room and board for anyone who can lend a hand! Definitely early spring when we’ll be transplanting 1.000 hops!!

my husband is retired from the malting industry, their main customer was the breweries. my youngest son who now lives in CA & wife will go to local micro-breweries to taste & compare the brews. I also have a rather large Hops plant that comes back every year on my ‘spooky tree’ you can find some of the posts on hops in my category cloud or under spooky tree. micro-breweries are doing vary well here & aboard. thanks for sharing, stopping & commenting 🙂
