The Taj Mahal. Just the words create a sense of wonder for most of us. Having gone to the Taj several years ago, I was in awe of the size but I have to say it is the intricacy in that powerful structure that continues to impress. Here’s a quick flip-through Taj Mahal photos below.
In Agra (the city where Taj Mahal is), there are still artisans who do the ilay work that makes the Taj so awe-inspiring. The precious stones are cut in a process that the following photos will show you.
The intricacy of the work done by hand and rather crude tools. Is amazing, don’t you think? The work comes into bigger designs and pieces.
Other artists carve intricate lace into marble…. Yes… that is a long-term effort, just think how hard marble is!
And as you back away…. you can see how the beautiful pieces come together.
The way the sun hits…. it changes the colors from white to golden and everyone has to get a photo in front of it!
This is another post in the Month of Memories. I missed my first day yesterday, so I will just add that to the end of the month. Hope that is ok!
