Where do Easter eggs come from?

It’s Easter morning already and it occurred to me that there will be lots of eggs in baskets today. Some folks think of eggs as coming from grocery stores, but most of us know the frustrating question “what came from first the chicken or the egg?”

There is a good YouTube video I just watched again.  In the video, Trent Loos talks with an egg farmer in Indiana about the things he and other farmers do to produce safe eggs, efficiently and with respect to customers’ wants.  This video is shot at an indoor facility but the farmer does a great job of talking inclusively about how different practices can be done while offering good animal care.
