ag is a colorful spectrum — hope I can represent the adventure

Killin time. Not sure why. I have lots of things to do, including my taxes! But instead I’m playing with my blog design. I just wanted to play and then realized I had hit activate rather than preview so I had to go for it!  I sort of wish I would have grabbed a screenshot of the previous blog.  That was my first take at entering the blogosphere but que sera!

I’ve seen a few blogs that used space & widgets (things in the outside columns) more effectively than I had been and thought about changing it sometime ago.  I also had thought about changing the photo on the header.  Then, I noticed something that I had to tinker with. Next thing I knew, I was searching photos and creating a montage!  See what happens when I don’t have a critical deadline hanging over me after having been fever-pitched a while? (And yes, the IRS deadline will have me fever-pitched!)

So, now, atop my blog is a photo of the Memphis skyline I took last summer from an Arkansas soybean field. I had to represent cotton too though!  And then, I thought of other things…. so I decided to pop in a few of the things that I’ve had a chance to see in the world of agriculture during my years of roaming.

Gotta admit I am enjoying the fact that this one teases in the artwork. I can rarely have the luxury of seeing the world as separately urban and rural. Having lived in the middle of nowhere as well as the outskirts of New York and Midtown Memphis, I guess I’m a little bit country and I’m a little bit rock’n’roll. My experiences lead me to believe that agriculture, farmers, etc are colorful spectrums. I think the greatest sights are when you get out, kick the dirt and see more of the grays, greens, golds, and reds etc. even if that’s inside the city limits.

So, if you’ve been reading the blog, what do you think? What other changes should I make?

Love the changes! Great job with the photos. Really like how you created a montage with your photos.

Thanks! Not bad for a procrastination project. 🙂 Now… I probably better get a good night’s sleep so I can get my taxes done soon. 🙁
