Facing An Identity Crisis Head On

It still befuddles me a little that I made up a Twitter name one day — @JPlovesCOTTON — to show my personal connection to agriculture and give off positive vibes, and years later that is how many people know me. It wasn’t part of a master plan — I wish I was that smart back then! For me, JPlovesCOTTON was a way of capturing my name, a bit of my personality and the part of farming I was passionate about.

JPlovesCOTTONSomehow, along the line it became a way of capturing my identity. And with the fun-loving friends I have, I have had a series of suggestions for me to change my Twitter handle — Brent has long suggested I should be @JPlovesALMONDS, a certain tech dude created a @JPlovesWOOL Twitter account that sometimes chimes in about another natural fiber or something else of witty origin and today I got this suggestion via Twitter.

#BeetInstitute attendees want @JPlovesCOTTON to change her handle to @JPisinacomplicatedrelationshipwithSUGAR #PCRmeASAP

That sort of leads to a bit of an identity crisis and yet it shows that I’ve got a lot of things that I think about awesome in the world! So, what I want to know is if you could fill-in-the-blank for me, how would you have me defined? @JPloves______! That’s what the comment section is for!

I am fine with ideas to change but have to admit that I sort of like the moniker I already have! πŸ™‚

Because your life encompasses travel, bbq, cotton, agriculture, people, social media – so many things. And it rolls off the tongue fairly well.
